Bobby Peterson
Bobby Peterson (b.1950 - d.7/8/2002). I was lucky enough to take piano lessons from local jazz pianist named Bobby Peterson. Bobby was truly one of a kind. A phenomenal pianist (who played with the likes of legendary drummer Buddy Rich). A wonderfully funny man. I only regret that I wasn't able to learn more from this gentle monster of the keyboard. Each night I perform in public, I think of Bobby and hope he approves of what I am playing. My performances of "Fool On The Hill" are dedicated to him, as it was the last piece we were working on as student/teacher.

Ray Brown
Ray Brown (b.10/13/1926 - d.7/2/2002). Seeing his live performances and listening to his records has provided a wealth of musical inspiration. In my opinion, his contributions to jazz will never be equalled. It's hard to believe that someone could create so much sound from four strings. If I can someday swing 1% as hard as Ray did, it will be a miracle.
